A Weekend with Cathryn

When planning your weekend, the workshops in the list provide you with a starting point for planning your weekend. The exact combination you’ll choose will depend on who you want your weekend to be for, and what you want them to get out of it.

For Extra Development of Your Own Students:


Saturday Morning

Technique workshop (1 hour) and Musical interpretation (1.5 hours)

Saturday Afternoon

Technique (1 hour) and Developing creativity (1.5 hours)

Saturday Evening

Social function or concert

Sunday Morning

Technique workshop (1 hour) and Building a choreography (1.5 hours)

Sunday Afternoon

Technique workshop (1 hour) and Troupe performance or Learning a choreography (1.5 hours)

Troupe Development Weekend:


Saturday morning

Technique workshop (1.5 hours) and Musical Interpretation (1 hour)

Saturday Afternoon

Developing Creativity and Improvisation (2.5 hours)

Saturday Evening

Social function encouraging improvisational dances & showing existing troupe pieces

Sunday Morning

Technique workshop (1.5 hours) and Building a Choreography (1 hour)

Sunday Afternoon

Developing Troupe Performance (2.5 hours) The outcome of this will be a finished piece ready for your troupe to perform. Along the way they’ll have learnt the process of how to build a piece, and how to turn a choreography into a performance.

All Comers Workshop Weekend:

Technique workshops – covering up to three topics

Saturday Evening

Concert or social function

Sunday

Creativity workshops – covering up to three topics This format allows students who are interested in one aspect or the other to attend for a single day.
